Anyone else feel me? I’ve only started to attempt being crafty in the last few years.Silhouette Studio® Business Edition lets us directly open Ai, EPS, and CDR files, which have been created from other major vector-imaging software programs (such as Adobe Illustrator® or CorelDraw®). The Business Edition does NOT provide the ability to SAVE as Ai, EPS, or CDR files. I literally haven’t even taken my brand new Silhouette Cameo 4 out of the box because I need to figure out the software before I sprain my brain with the actual machine. I’m telling you, I know the size of the vinyl, the size of the design that needs cutting, and what I get is NOT it. I can type in exactly what I want and it’s HUGE on the screen and always tells me I have to resize it for the project.

The hardest thing for me to understand is how to get the dang designs to be the correct sizes. My issue isn’t so much about connectivity, but I’m having such a hard time understanding how this software works! There are so many projects I have been dying to work on, but my busy, stressed out (and getting a little older brain) is just not compatible with the software. If you or anyone else is interested in seeing a demo of this working I can possibly whip up a video, but it is relatively simple setup.

I have my wide-format printer and my cutter in another room connected to a raspberry pi 4 (can be any device that can connect to your network, wired or wireless, including lower end laptops, I just have a bunch of Pi 4s) that shares its USB devices over the network to ALL network connected devices. There is another solution that instead of using a dedicated laptop for SS and its by using a piece of software called VirtualHere, and its actually what I use in this exact situation. Generally when Bluetooth is actively searching the signal is stronger as looking for devices. Other Machines: have a Cricut, Big Shot, or other cutting machine? This flair is for you.
